THE HOT STUFF
- Raw opened with HBK vs JBL. But when JBl came out we was not dressed to wrestle instead he had a verbal spat with HBK that was just awesome. After watching this "spat" I see why JBL is a great old time heel. He had the crowd booing him before he finished his first paragraph. After JBL finished giving HBK a good tongue lashing HBK finished him off with suprise SuperKick .... Man HBK is quick on his feet ... Great start to a wonderful Raw.
-- BOBBY LASHLEY beat the Masterlock!! I hope this puts an end to these damn Masterlock Challenges!
--- Stone Cold's 'All Grown Up" Wrestlemania promo was off the hook. I loved the "little" Austin was having a Milk bash it was perfect and added to the feel of Wrestlemania. Good job WWE Graphic Design Team!
---- The Battle Royal Match to get Edge's spot in Money in the Bank match at Wrestlemania. Edge pulled the tricky heel playing hurt and then throws the 'last' man out to win the match and keep his spot at Wrestlemania. All the Superstars did a great job in this match but the highlights were Carlito and Ric Flair they put some heart and soul into this match and it was an edge of the seat match hoping for one of them to win!
----- Candice and Melina in a Bra and Panties match was surprisely good. I was hoping Candice would beat Melina but I was wrong ... Melina won the match but then Ashley comes out and stripes Melina of her shirt and leaves her in her bra and panties ... classic way to build some heat between these two for Wrestlemania.
------ Jeff Hardy vs Randy Orton. Jeff was selling his back injury from last week but these two put on a great contest. There was some fast pace action and some soild wrestle moves but Jeff won via DQ win Edge comes out and throws a ladder into the ring. Randy uses the ladder to smash Hardy but when Orton's back is turned Hardy gets a Twist of Fate onto the Ladder and then using the ladder as a spring board to give Orton the big leg drop .... AWESOME ... the Money in the Bank Match could be match of the year.
------ John Cena vs Chris Benoit. Benoit can make anyone look good in a match but Cena really brought his A game to this one. Very fast and brutal match with Benoit getting the three amigos and Cena winning with the STFU win Benoit Tapped Out!! Benoit TAPPED OUT I can't believe it!!
During the match HBK was at ring side giving commentary with JR and Todd Grisham .. Take a note Batista this is how you build heat and a match when you are doing commentary! After the match Cena and HBK play mind games with each other until JBL comes back out and announces next week will be a rematch from No Way Out .. Cena and HBK vs Batista and Undertaker! What a great way to end a wonderful Raw.
THE NOT SO HOT STUFF
- Vince pushing the Billionaire's Hair match down our throats -- I don't care anymore. Then Umaga comes out and squashes Eugene and then shave his head.
-- Khali comes out after the Bra and Panties match and gets ready to chokeslam Ashley before The King saves her to get chokeslamed himself. Thats it .. no Kane no nothing and then No King for the rest of the show
SUPERSTAR OF THE NIGHT: JBLMan it was hard to pick a Superstar of the Night from this Raw becasue there was so many great performances, but JBL showed why he was Heavyweight Champion and one of the best talkers in the business. Man he sold the Match between Cena and HBK at Wrestlemania better than anyone else to date. I hope he never comes out of retirement to wrestle because he is serving the WWE as a announcer better.
What an amazing night for Monday Night Raw. If it was not for the Khali and Vince stuff this would have been a perfect night. I am soo happy Bobby Lashley beat the Maserlock and that we had Wrestlemania Reversal night. Lets hope Smackdown can keep this hot vibe going this Friday Night!
