Bone Smackin' Smackdown Review 3-23-07

Smackdown keeps delivering on the Road to Wrestlemania. Not as good as Raw last week but not too bad all the way around. Of course we had Vince pushing and pushing the Hair match but we also had some good wrestling.

THE HOT STUFF:

- Kendrick and London vs MNM. This was for the tag team titles and again Kendrick and London showed why they are the Champs right now; lots of high flying quick action from Kendrick and London. Mecury for MNM was in the ring most of the time and he looked a little slow compared to Kendrick and London. Melina tries to get involved with Ashley stopping her ... building more heat for their match at Wrestlemania. London and Kendrick won and retained their belts with a clean pin on Mercury.

-- Chavo took on Jimmy Wang Yang, Smackdown's Resident Redneck. The match was good and the WWE is starting to build a feud with Chavo and Jimmy. Jimmy looked great with his Cruiserweight style that made Chavo look a little big in body style for this divison. Jimmy won with a reverse Moonsault from the top rope. Nice move and a clean victory for Jimmy.

--- Mr. Kennedy and Randy Orton vs Bobby Lashley in a Tables Match. There was some good and some bad points in this match, but overall a solid outing. Lashley had to win by putting both Orton and Kennedy through a table. The match was slow at times, but Lashley looked strong and picked up the win by putting Kennedy and then Orton through their own tables.

---- Benoit vs Gregory Helms. This match started during the commerical (which I hate), but what we witnessed was another great match from these two. Both of these Superstars know how to work in a match. Benoit was giving Helms some nasty Chops and a beautiful Northern Lights Suplex. Benoit got Helms to tap out with the cross face. Benoit is looking strong and unbeatable going into Wrestlemania. His lost to Cena on Raw last week does not take anything away from him.

----- The main event was Batista and Undertaker vs King Booker and Finlay. Before the match Booker and Finlay jumped Batista in the back and beat him up pretty good. So the match started without Batista and that is no problem for me. This turned into a Handicap match between Undertaker and Booker and Finlay.

The handicap match was pretty good contest going back and forth between Undertaker and Booker and Finlay ... The Undertaker won again via DQ when Finlay used his stick to hit the Undertaker in front of the Ref. Then the DQ bell rang Batista came out to help with the post match beat down and then turned on the Undertaker and thru Booker into him when he was going to give Finlay the last ride. The real question is how are these two going to act on Monday Night Raw when they meet Cena and Orton in a No Way Out rematch? Should be very good.

THE NOT SO HOT STUFF:

- I am soo tired of Vince pushing this hair match like it is the best thing going in the WWE. I don't care anymore who gets their head shaved... lets just pray Vince leaves our TVs for awhile after Wrestlemania.

-- MVP vs Fredrick von House. Another "world champion" from Europe that MVP squashes on his road to the US Title at Wrestlemania. MVP does not stand a chance aganist Benoit.

--- The Kennedy and Orton vs Lashley match is in the HOT STUFF Section but it is also listed here because it is tied to the hair match that I am so sick of .... I don't even want to talk about it anymore.

SUPERSTAR OF THE NIGHT: JIMMMY WANG YANG

Jimmy had a great match against Chavo starting a feud for the Cruiserweight Belt. Jimmy deserves to win this belt because he got screwed out of the belt during the Cruiserweight battle royal a few weeks back. Jimmy is the resident redneck of Smackdown and I just love the way he moves in the ring. I look forward to more matches with Jimmy and him becoming the next Cruiserweight Champion!!

Overall Smackdown was a good show, not as good as Raw, but Smackdown is building new feuds and really starting to push the Undertaker as the most dominate Superstar on Smackdown (like the Heavyweight Champion is suppose to be). The Vince and Bobby Lashley stuff took to much time, but it could have been worst. Very little Batista is always a good thing. I liked seeing Randy Orton on Smackdown I think he would do really well there. Just one more Smackdown before Wrestlemania and I bet it is going to be ass kicking!! I am looking forward to the Undertaker and Batista interview with JBL and what does Jimmy Wang Yang have up his sleeve??

MY RATING: 7
